  2. Jalu-jalumbaw marraal nguuunmarr naaraway. Garaala girrwaadu warriirla nyaawang, ngilinagay yuungguway. Marraal nguuju, gayabarr. Long ago the world was dark and sad. The sky people looked down and it had become bad. The world was quiet and grey.

  3. Garaala girrwaadu giiguy-baligay marraarl-gu ngarrayngging ngurraaygu dawaandidu. Maayal-guunu yidaa niirrumay. 1 The sky people wanted to give the world colour by painting it. The animals were still cold.

  4. Garaala girrwaadu minya garruugu wumaaga girraalgang. Gijada biiwayayagay. Gala yaarrigay waagay nyaagiling. Wiigunay garlaawirrambang. Ngujawiny janggal- janggalay. The sky people tried many things and almost stopped. But then they found fire. This gave the animals heat and light. Everyone was happy.

  5. Garaala girrwaadu gulaa ganyjaarring, jawgarr marraal garra -niirrumay gayabarr. The sky people forgot and the world again was cold and grey.

  6. Garaala girrwaa yurruunda julu-ngarrangiyay. Garaala girrwaadu maayal-guunu-gu wuuru-darruy ngurraang. Jawgarr yanggidambu garaala girrwaa yanaambang. The sky people thought for a long time and gave the animals voices so they could wake the sky people up.

  7. Barrwaynyarr gurrujigam maarrang yarrang daalgay maayala-guunugu ngurraaygu. Ngujawiny janggal-janggalay. A great ceremony was held to give the animals their songs. Everyone was happy.

  8. Marraal giiguy-bali guunuwaygam miilarray. Yanggidam maagunda duwa gaywarla. Giili, warrgang garruugu maayal-guunu gundi yidaa bambuuda. The world was full of colour and life. Everyone celebrated for days and days. Now the animals have a special job every morning.
