  2. ST Paul’s Cathedral In the middle of the city among the new modern buildings you will find St Paul’s. It was design- et by the architect Sir Christopher Wren. St Paul’s is a place for Important ceremonies.

  3. Buckingham Palace In London you can see the place where the Qu- een lives - Buckingham Palace. Since 1993 the palace has been open for visitors.

  4. The Tower of London The Tower has been a castle, a palace, and a prison during its long history. In the Tower you can see the Crown Jewels of Eng- land.

  5. The Houses of Parliament Nowadays it is the place where the Parliament meets. If the British flag is on the tower it means that the Parliament is working at the moment.

  6. “Big Ben” The clock tower is over a hu- ndred meters high and it is home to “Big Ben”. The clock itself is huge. It is almost 7 meters in diameter and the minute hand is over 4 meters long.

  7. Westminster Abbey The Abbey is one of the most important cathedrals in the co- untry. Most of the Kings and Queens of England have been buried there.

  8. Trafalgar Square Trafalgar Square is the heart of modern London. It was named in memory of the victory of the Eng- lish fleet over the French in the Battle of Trafalgar under the command of admiral Nelson who lost his life in that battle.

  9. The ceremony of the changing ofthe guards There are always guards outside the palace. They wear red uniforms. The ceremony of the changing of the guard takes place every morning.
