  1. CV(Curriculum Vitae) Latin: ’course of life’ A summary of a person’s educational qualifications, skills and professional history

  2. Why write a CV? • You will need one when applying for scholarships, college or a new job • It is an excellent way of marketing yourself if well done – you are selling your skills, abilities, qualifications and experience to employers • Once done – you can always use it in the future and add on to it – the first one is always the hardest!

  3. Firstly, decide what sections you want in your CV and the order in which you want them to appear (this depends on what you’re using it for). You must include: Education Work Experience Interests Other options include Volunteer Work Extracurricular Organisations Leadership Positions Special Skills How to write a CV

  4. Even if you have no previous work experience, you should include anything that makes you appear responsible and interesting, such as: Captain of a basketball team Guitarist/singer in a band Babysitter to your neighbours Dog-walker etc, etc Seeking a job

  5. Getting going….. • The best way is to look at examples of other people’s CVs. You can use them as a starting point. • You can then develop your own style accordingly
