Comodo MobileSecurityforAndroid - User Guide 2.Download and Install Comodo Mobile Security You can download Comodo Mobile Security (CMS) from Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.comodo.cisme.antivirus Note: You need a Google account in order to download apps from the Play store. You can handle each threat separately, or hit 'Fix All Items' to remove them all. • Fix All Items - Remove all discovered threats Ignore - Leave the app on your device Uninstall - Remove the malicious app from your device See 'Scan your Device' for more information. • • • 3.Sign up for a CMS Account A CMS account is required if you want to enable the following services: ID Protection • VPN • APP Lock • Virus scans and safe browsing do not require a CMS account. Comodo MobileSecurityforAndroid - User Guide 4.Sign-in to your CMS Account Open the CMS app on your mobile device • Touch the user icon at the bottom-right of the home screen • Make sure the screen is open at the 'Sign In' tab: • Enter your username (email address) and password. Tap 'Login' • Note - You can also login to CMS using your Facebook or Google account. Touch the appropriate button at the bottom of the screen to do so. • Forgotten Passwords You can reset your password if you have forgotten it. You can also make it scan your SD card if you enable it in scanner settings. • By default, CMS uses our cloud virus database during scans on your device. This provides the greatest protection because the cloud database has the most up-to-date information about the latest viruses. • You can change scan options in the CMS settings area. See 'Configure Scanner Settings' for more help. The scan results show any problems that were found on your device. • There are two possibilities: 'Secure' and 'At Risk'. Comodo MobileSecurityforAndroid - User Guide The settings area contains the following items: Cloud Scanning – If enabled, CMS will check the apps on your device against our online database of known-malware. This improves your security because the online database is constantly updated with information about the latest viruses. If disabled, CMS will use a local database which is saved on your device, but which is updated less frequently. (Default = Enabled) Real-time Protection – If enabled, CMS will scan new apps when you install them (Default = Enabled) SD Card Scanning – If enabled, CMS will also check your storage card for viruses.   21. Comodo MobileSecurityforAndroid - User Guide 8.Safe Browsing 'Safe Browsing' is a URL filter which protects you online by automatically blocking malicious, suspicious and phishing websites. Note – You can add websites you trust to the safe list if you are sure they are not malicious. Click here to find out to add sites to the safe list. • • 9.App Lock App lock lets you prevent other users from accessing your applications and games without your knowledge. • The feature lets you lock any game or app you want behind a single lock pattern. • App lock is available only on premium accounts. Tap here and change the pattern as explained above. Activate Admin – If enabled, CMS will require device admin permission to uninstall CMS. • • • 10. Virtual Private Network (VPN) A VPN allows you to securely and anonymously connect to the internet from any location • This is especially useful to protect your communications when using public WiFi (cafes, airports, parks etc) • Because all your traffic is encrypted, a VPN is also useful for sending or receiving sensitive information • The VPN service is available only on premium accounts. Traffic is unlimited. To disconnect the VPN service, tap on the VPN tile • Hit 'Yes' to disconnect • 11. ID Protection The deep and dark webs are where cyber-criminals exchange stolen data. A significant chunk of this data is compromised email accounts and credit card numbers. • Email addresses are of great value to hackers because many online portals also use them as your login name. If your email is on found on the dark web, there's a chance that they also have the corresponding password. • Your card number or email address may also be just one part of a larger trove of your personal information. For example, the hackers may also have your social security number, home address or more. • CMS continually monitors the dark/deep web and will alert you if your email ID or card number is detected. • We automatically enroll your CMS sign-up email into the ID protection program, free of charge. You can protect more email IDs by upgrading to CMS premium. If enabled, CMS will scan the dark web for the presence of this email address every 24 hours. We will alert you if your address is discovered. • Hit 'Add' to confirm your settings. • Manage protected email IDs You can enable / disable the daily checks and remove addresses from the protection list. Safe List CMS alerts you when it blocks a harmful website or app. • You have the option to 'ignore' the alert, and allow the connection or app to open. • Apps - Apps you ignore at an alert are automatically added to the safe list. They will open in future without an alert. Websites – Sites you ignore at an alert are allowed 'this time only'. They will generate another alert the next time you visit them. You must manually add the URL to the safe list if you want to permanently trust the site. Comodo MobileSecurityforAndroid - User Guide Open 'Safe Apps' or 'Safe URLs' as required. • Touch the '-' button beside an item to remove it from the safe list. • Items you remove will again be detected as malicious during a scan (for apps) or by the URL filter (for websites). • Safe Apps – Apps are automatically added to the safe-list when you choose 'Ignore' at a CMS alert. Safe URLs – You have to manually enter the website's URL to add it to the whitelist. URL filtering is disabled on whitelisted sites. To add a website's URL to safe list, tap '+' • Enter the website's URL and hit 'Add'. • The website will be added to safe list. Disabled – The filter will run in the background, but won't auto-block websites. If you visit a harmful site, CMS will alert you and encourage you to activate the filter. • • Virus DB updated – Informs you that the database has been updated to the latest version • 14.
