  2. Nomenclature • Steps Naming compounds • Acid? If acid use rules for naming acids • Ionic /Covalent? If covalent use prefixes. • Ionic- binary/ternary? If ternary, use polyatomic ion sheet. Do not change name of polyatomic ions. • Check for transition metals. If transition metals use Roman numerals to indicate charge. Determine charge from formula.

  3. Assignment: Rally Coach • Steps for each compound: 1. Copy the formula 2. Put the formula in words 3. Calculate the molar mass of each compound ( mass of 1 mole)
