The Use of Parables in Jesus' Teaching

Jesus used parables as a method to teach his disciples and to keep the mysteries of the Kingdom hidden from unbelievers. Parables are stories that illustrate spiritual truths but do not serve to prove them. Understanding the spiritual truth within the parable itself is key, and simplification or complication should be avoided.
