  1. Supplies and Accessories You May Need for All Your Drywall Projects The best part with any drywall project is that it is the least expensive. Neither the raw materials nor the installation will burn a hole in your pockets. That being said, most people assume that when we speak about raw materials it is just the drywall panels. But that isn’t it. There are many other accessories and supplies needed for completing a drywall project. So, let’s take a look at the materials needed for a project. Drywall Panels This is the heart of the project and may need a maximum share of your entire project budget. You can find these drywalls with different names and brand names. But in general, it is just a gypsum between two paper layers. You can also go for the fancier versions that protect you against moisture, sound, or even fire for special applications. All these drywall types can be easily sourced from drywall contractors online. Joint Compound Till some new technology comes around that makes the process easier, cleaner, and faster, you have to stick with a joint compound. It is commonly also called ‘mud’ and you can find it easily with other drywall supplies. While buying a joint compound, it is preferable to go with the pre-mixed compound, especially if you are managing a small project that extends only to a room or two. Paper Tape These tapes come in handy to hold together the different sheets of drywall till the joint compound dries up. It is embedded in the mud and forms a hard connection later on. Paper tapes are a cheaper and effective option to carry out the task. However, if you can spend a bit more, you can go for the fiberglass tape that provides a super- strong joining option.

  2. Drywall Screws Screws are a better and effective alternative to old-fashioned nails. It has an advantage as it doesn’t pop out from your drywalls after years of installation. However, while buying, make sure that you go the coarse-threaded screws and not the fine ones. These are some of the essential materials that you may need to complete your project.
