HOT WEATHER • Cramps (signs) • Pain • Reduced range of motion • Weakness in the muscle
HOT WEATHER • Cramps (treatment) • Rest • Stretching • Drink fluids (water is best) • Massage the muscles • Eat bananas (potassium)
HEAT EXHAUSTION • SIGNS • Profuse (too much) sweating • Body feels weak • Pale • Nausea (vomit) • Lightheaded (dizzy)
HEAT EXHAUSTION • Treatment • Rest for at 30 minutes • Get into a cool environment • Drink fluids
HEAT STROKE • SIGNS • High body temperature > 105d • Hot, dry skin • Very rapid heartbeat • Victim will probably be unconscious
HEAT STROKE • TREATMENT • Wet the clothing with water not ice • Get out of the hot environment • Get medical attention
