  2. Holiday Eating Habits Americans celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas by gathering with family and friends and having large meals including turkey or ham as the main dishes. Turks celebrate KurbanBayram and SekerBayrami by gathering with family and friends and having large meals including lamb as the main dish.

  3. Daily Eating Habits 25 % of the United States eat fast food on a daily basis. Eating fast food is somewhat discouraged, but not a big deal. Turks prefer home cooked meals and eating out is highly discouraged.

  4. Terrain The United States has rolling hills, high mountains, flat plains, wet marshlands, and dry deserts. Turkey has a high central plateau, narrow coastal plain and high mountain ranges.

  5. Country size The US is approximately 9,826,675 square kilometers with a population of 313,232,044 people. Turkey is approximately 783,562 square kilometers with a population of 78,785,584 people.

  6. Religion 51.3 % of the US are Protestants and 23.9 % are Roman Catholics. 98 % of Turkey is Muslim.
