  1. 专题十 广告语言的翻译 • （一）译者必须熟悉外国文化 • “芳芳”——“Fang－fang” • “白象”电池，直接把它翻译成“White Elephant” • 李宁(Li Ning) 牌运动服、德芙(DOVE) 巧克力 • “联想”Legend (含有传奇的意义) • “海尔”(Haier) ——英语“Higher”

  2. （二）译者必须忠实传达原文信息 • 商标“玉兔”不翻译成“Jade Rabbit”而是“Moon Rabbit” • 藕粉,有人将其翻译成“Lotus Root Starch ” • 后来把“starch”换成“powder”

  3. （三）译者必须通晓本国传统文化 • 饮料“Seven-up”(七喜) ——“七上” • 在化妆品的中译名中,多与女性有关,如“兰”、“黛”、“婷”、“芳”、“莲”等, “Estee Lander”译为“雅诗兰黛”,“Pantene”译为“潘婷”,“Avon”译为“雅芳”, “Maybelline”译为“美宝莲”。“OALY”翻译为“玉兰油” • “雪碧” (Sprite) • 音译法：肯德基( Kentucky) 、比萨饼(pizza) 、彪马( Puma) 、劳力士(Rolex) 、摩托罗拉(Motorola)

  4. 音译和意译相结合 ：Head &Shoulders“海飞丝” (意为头发和双肩没有头屑) 、Pepsi Cola“百事可乐”(含有祝福的意思) 、Dove“多芬” (意为富有芬芳) 、 “斯波兹曼”(Sportsman) 自行车

  5. （四）译者必须熟悉消费者的心理 • “巴黎之春”(服饰广场) ,“斯里兰卡的空气”(咖啡馆) ,“藤井树”( KTV 包厢) ,“喀秋莎”(大酒店) • “Coca - Cola” • “索尼、三洋、夏普、卡西欧、松下”——“SONY、SANYO 、SHARP、CASIO、PANASONIC” • 柯达( Kodak)
