    2. Mecklenburg county is a fast-growing area with new people moving here every single day! Many new employees can be found in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. New businesses in the area are flourishing.

    3. The Mecklenburg county seat is held in Charlotte, NC. This city is the most highly populated city in North Carolina, making it a place of great opportunity. Charlotte stands as a good place to hold the county seat because of it’s large population and modern technology.

    4. Mecklenburg County Population There are about 800,000 citizens currently residing in Mecklenburg County. Most citizens of Mecklenburg own a house and have a job. The percent of high school graduates in Mecklenburg County is one of the highest in the state.

    5. Major Industries and Businesses Four large industries in Mecklenburg county are banking, real estate , food distribution, and wholesale. Each of these major industries reels in millions of dollars each year in our area. Different industries around the county are so competitive that living here saves a lot of money.

    6. Major Employers Major employers in Mecklenburg County are Harris Teeter, Bank of America, Wachovia, Century 21, Ethan Allen, Keller Williams, and Target. Car dealers such as Toyota, Chevrolet, Nissan, and Ford also employ many people every year. Each year, Mecklenburg County employs over a million jobs, and that number is growing every day!

    7. The median household income for Mecklenburg County is $49,020. This is good compared to the North Carolina average which is $39,438. The high income amounts are good for the economy and slows the poverty level drastically.

    8. And the Rest… Mecklenburg County is a diverse area with many different walks of life. Here, there are many different religions including Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, and the most practiced, Christianity. 85.5% of people living in Mecklenburg County own or live in a home. 95.1% of people living in this county have a job of some kind. Mecklenburg County has about 86% of all students graduating from high school. In healthcare, our county is well covered with different hospitals for each health need. Some of these hospitals include Charlotte Medical Center and, Presbyterian Hospital.
