  2. Whatis e-waste? Also known as e-waste, discarded computer equipment comprises monitors, printers, hard drives and circuit boards. Such items should on no account be thrown out with your household rubbish because they contain toxic substances, and are effectively hazardous waste.

  5. So ourschool community decided to getrid of it

  6. Why? My PC contains: Plastic 23%Ferrous metals 32%Non-ferrous metals 18%Electronic boards 12%Glass 15%

  7. What types of computer parts can be recycled? • Glass monitor • Keyboard • CD Rom drive • Plastic case • Cathoderaytube (CRT) • Cables • Copperinpowercord • Metal fromcircuitboard • Printercartridges • Batteries

What are the benefits of computer recycling? • Reduceslandfillspace • Creates less toxic chemical emissions • Allows people to buy used computers at an affordable price • Can be used as source of lead for other products • Conserves energyuse in manufacturing plants • Provides useful donations for charity organizations
