  1. How to Choose keywords for an SEO Strategy – Part Two In part one we looked at the need for specific keywords, or more accurately, key phrases,as well as the role of the Wonder Wheel and SEO agencies. Here we continue where we left of with a look at how often a keyword should appear on your site, and expand on the role of SEO agencies. If you are taking care of your site’s SEO yourself, it can be difficult to know how much repetition of keywords to include. If you sell pet food, for example, should you vary your key phrases (‘pet food’, ‘rabbit food’, ‘Excel’) or repeat them (‘pet food reviews’, ‘pet food comparison’, ‘pet food rankings’?) The answer is, repetition is fine providing the meaning of the whole phrase varies sufficiently. For example, ‘pet food’ and ‘pet food online’ are basically the same thing. On the other hand, ‘pet food reviews’ and ‘pet food comparison’ suggest sufficiently varied content, and so it’s fine to use both phrases. If you run a social media marketing agency that has several branches, and a central website, it is fine to include ‘social media marketing Birmingham’, ‘social media marketing London’ and ‘social media marketing Manchester’. Each keyword should then lead the user to the relevant landing page, for example, ‘social media marketing Birmingham’ should link to the page on your website about your Birmingham branch. Do bear in mind though that your keywords need to be ‘truthful’. For example, if your site doesn’t actually contain a pet food comparison tool, you shouldn’t include the ‘pet food comparison’ key phrase. You would be misleading your potential customers and Google may penalise you for ‘untruthful’ content.

  2. Have an over arching SEO Strategy. Many businesses get themselves a website and worry about SEO later. This works pretty well but for even better results, work with a web design company and an SEO specialist (they may well be the same firm) right from the start. Your keyword research should reflect what users are looking for, and also the way that search engines deal with keywords and phrases, you can use this information and feed it back into the design of your website and the nature of the content within that framework. You may also decide to change your domain name to match one or more of the most common search terms. In other words, taking a holistic approach to your web marketing strategy can improve every individual aspect of that strategy, and the strategy as a whole can end up being better than the sum of its parts. Vary Your Content Search engines prefer websites that change frequently so keep updating your site. You may want to add more content, such as blogs, that includes your original keywords, or you may wish to add some new keywords into the equation. Either way, a dynamic and interesting website, with plenty of engaging, original content will go down better with Google and with your customers. SEO Agencies As we have seen, SEO is more complicated than just adding ‘pet food’ to the title of your web pages. It can be a time consuming and involved process so many businesses prefer to outsource it to the experts. SEO agencies are experts in choosing and incorporating the most appropriate keywords for your site and will provide regular reports and updates to you.

  3. Whether you decide to go it alone, or use a Birmingham seo agency, it is worth setting a decent amount of time aside to research your keywords, and the earlier in the process you do this, the better for your business’s online presence. Source: Click Here
