The King goes ape over Fay Wray, and eventually sacrifices his furry self for her. The Adventures of Robin Hood. Michael Curtiz, 1938. This is the pinnacle of all swashbuckling flicks, with Errol Flynn at his most dashing, Basil Rathbone at his most deliciously loathsome and Olivia de Havilland at her most charming.
