Failure to comply with mandates will result in exclusion from school. School Requirements • Emergency Cards • Medication Policy • Healthy Snacks • Contagious Conditions

  7. First Day of Kindergarten!!! • Students ride the bus by themselves. • Parents can help students bring items into the classroom for the first few minutes.

  10. Arrival/Departure • UDSD Transportation 610-352-7112. Transportation provided for PM program only. • School begins at 8:50/12:35 • Drop off procedures for a.m./p.m. • Prompt pick-up at school and the bus stop are very important.

  11. Help your child prepare by: Practicing with belts, buttons and zippers Reviewing opening and closing school bags Encouraging independence with opening and cleaning up snack Practicing proper bathroom etiquette Discussing the role of the teacher as the leader and the role of the student as the listener and follower of rules

  12. Reading/ Language Arts Curriculum • Expectations before entering Kindergarten: • 52 letters • Write Name • Follow 2 and 3 step directions • Being able to rhyme • Exposure to and proper use of: • Scissors • Crayons • Pencils • Glue • Exposure to literature --read each day

  18. How to Help your Child Prepare for Kindergarten Math • Count to 100 daily • Practice colors and shapes • Number identification including words • Use position words • Practice basic addition and subtraction
