  1. STEPS TO MOBILIZING A PRAYER MOVEMENT TOWARD TRANSFORMATION Inviting God’s Presence in Our Communities & Nations

  2. Corporate revival begins with individual obedience: Be a person of prayer. • Isa. 62:6-7 • Ask God to increase our capacity for Him. • God desires to be invited into our lives and communities—our part is to: • Pray • Seek Him • Follow Him • Recognize our need

  3. We must be changed agents to be change agents. • Our own spiritual pride is the biggest thing that impedes the work of God. • We need to learn to be un-offendable. God is drawn to holiness and humility. • Isa. 66:2—It must first begin in our own hearts then in our church then beyond.

  4. Hope must give way to faith & commitment. God’s presence is the catalyst. • Share a clear, kingdom vision that is a journey, not a destination. • God’s vision: every tongue, tribe & nation worshiping before His Throne • None to perish, all to come to repentance

  5. Don’t wait for everyone to get on board; begin with a committed core. • Identify those who have caught the vision and are willing to help mobilize others. • Not hirelings, but true shepherds after God’s own heart.

  6. Revival is a process including 3 phases. • God invites us to cry out to Him and we invite Him to become involved in our lives and societies. • We humble ourselves, pray and seek His face, confessing sins & turning away from our wicked ways. • He hears from heaven & forgives & heals our land.

  7. Breakthrough begins but we must not be satisfied to stop there. • Refreshing and renewal of the Church • Souls being saved • Signs and wonders • Beginnings of reconciliation and restoration • Visitation of God has begun

  8. Continue to press into God and His purposes. • Genuine transformation begins to take place when society is impacted at all levels. • God’s presence becomes our identity. • Every facet of our lives submits to His higher authority. • Re-naming and re-identification of our cities with God and His purposes.

  9. Gather the “John Knox’ers”. • John Knox cried to God, “Give me Scotland, or I die!” • Gather those who won’t quit and will keep crying to God, “Give me my city/nation or I die.” • Start where you are—even a remnant who persist in prayer

  10. Unity is a byproduct of relationship. • Unity begins to happen as we begin to humble ourselves, truly seek God, and begin to serve rather than seek to be served: • Encourage each other • Pray for each other • Share ideas with one another • Listen to each other • Help each other in difficulties • Build good channels of communication with one another

  11. Engage in fervent, penetrating, prevailing prayer. • Pray and don’t quit! • Travail in prayer. • We discern God’s heart for the community as we persist before His Throne. • Pray for the destiny of your community according to God’s plans and purposes. • Cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He guides you.

  12. God’s work will always be unique. • We will never know ahead of time exactly how He will come or exactly what He will do. • His mercies are new every morning. We can anticipate His delightful surprises. • God configures a perfect strategy every time. • We can’t format or program God. • God is willing to be invited but only willing to come on His own terms at His own time.

  13. Servant leaders must count the cost and point to a kingdom not their own. • This is a marathon, not a sprint: Leaders must be determined, committed, & persevering. • The measure of a great leader is NOT that he has influence w/ people, but w/ God. • Servant leaders are not stakeholders but shareholders in God’s kingdom. • Not about a name, title or recognition: must be willing to stand in the gap in hiddenness.

  14. We, ourselves, are the biggest obstacles to the move of God. • II Chron. 7:14; Isa. 62:7 • We cannot organize our way to success in God’s kingdom. Reliance on programs or planning hinders the move of God. We must ask God to give us direction and resist being pressured by the world. • Don’t make a decision until you’ve heard from GOD. • Simplicity keeps dependency on God & draws us into greater intimacy.

  15. God’s methods & calling cut across the grain. • We can talk more about God & still not expect the supernatural. • Lowered expectations hinder God’s move. • Misplaced motives hinder God’s move. • It’s about the Kingdom of the King of kings—relational intimacy with God. • Do we want a handyman or a lover?

  16. Ignorance of the past hinders the move of God. • Are we diligent to seek out the problems? • Are there broken covenants in our past? • Unresolved corporate sin? • Past iniquities that can be dealt with only through repentance? • Identify with godly choices & covenants that preceded us also.

  17. The root of disunity is PRIDE. • True unity goes beyond programs and events. It is the byproduct of humility. • Ask for a fresh revelation of our hearts and of the Body—only together can we obtain the results we want. • As we give ourselves away to one another and to Him, we find that the true doctrine is here together in all of us!

  18. People of God are very distracted, very busy pursuing the world. • Revival is born out of passion for God. • We need to remove distractions of culture, lay aside busyness and apathy. • Be awake, ready, watching for His coming. • Do I want a comfortable Christian life or do I want God’s presence?

  19. Don’t settle for anything less than divine visitation & transformation! • Revival and transformation is a process! Don’t get so excited when the first rains begin to pour that you quit pressing into God for the full measure of His grace. • Transformation is about every tongue, tribe and nation being touched by His presence in our midst. • The presence of God changes EVERYTHING!

  20. It’s time to seek the Lord! • Today is the day of salvation! • It’s time for the Church to become the beacon of light and hope to our world! • Prepare Him room!!
