  11. 1) Preparation: EUMETCast - concept • What is EUMETCast? • A multi-service dissemination system based onstandard Digital Video Broadcast(DVB-S) technology, using commercial telecommunication satellites to multicast files (data and products) to a wide user community • Operated by EUMETSAT • Started as an “emergency / backup” solution
