  • An Earthquake is a sudden tremor or movement of the earth's crust.

  • There are two main causes of earthquakes

  • First, they can be related to explosive volcanic eruptions. They are common in areas of volcanic activity.

  • Second, they can be triggered by Tectonic activity with plate margins and faults. The majority of earthquakes world wide are of this type.

  • An earthquake is what happens when two blocks of the earth suddenly slip past one another. The surface where they slip is called the fault or fault plane. The location below the earth’s surface where the earthquake starts is called the hypocenter, and the location directly above it on the surface of the earth is called the epicenter.

  • There are mostly volcanoes and volcanoes cause earthquakes.

  • Earthquakes can not be predicted because there not a weather changes or anything like that that’s something the earth controls.
