  2. BRIEF OVERVIEW of e-IOD • It is a web based VALUE ADDED SERVICE provided to Bulk customers. • It provides electronic information about delivery of articles to the sender through (i) e-mail (ii) electronic web based access (iii) departmental web site

  3. BRIEF OVERVIEW of e-IOD • This service is provided to all accountable & non accountable articles viz. BMS, NBMS,Letters, BookPost, Parcels, RLs, etc. • This service is not provided to SPEED POST & EPP as they have TATS facility.

  4. FUNCTIONING of e-IOD • Delivery POs will upload the delivery information on to the central server through e-IOD software. • An email will be generated & sent to the email address of the sender (or) Limited access to e-IOD server might be given to download the delivery information by the sender.

  5. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE • Persons / Organisations desirous of availing e-IOD service should apply to the Manager of the designated MBC/Office in the prescribed form.

  6. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE • After satisfying the eligibility of applicant, the details of the applicant will be entered in the system & a customer ID will be allotted. • Customer ID is the reference number for all future correspondence/ business.

  7. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE • Customer ID consists of 12 digits… First 2 digits denote Circle/Region Ex. 62 denotes Southern Region, TN. Next 4 digits denote Postal/RMS divisions. Next 2 digitsdenotethe Office of Posting. Last 4 digitsdenote the serial no. of the customer.( given upto 9999).

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE • On completion of registration process, a certificate containing the customer ID would be generated by e-IOD software. • One copy retained as Office copy and the other copy given to the customer. Also, the software will simultaneously send an email containing the registration certificate & instructions on e-IOD.

  10. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • e-IOD articles should be presented at the prescribed office of acceptance alongwith the prescribed form. • A bar code should be printed on the address side of the articles or envelopes containing the articles.

CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • FOR WINDOW ENVELOPES: Bar code should be printed on the article so that barcode should be fully & clearly visible through the address window in a scannable manner. • FOR OTHER ENVELOPES: Bar code should be affixed in the right bottom corner of the envelope, leaving atleast 5 mm space from the both edges of envelope.

  12. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • Printed Bar codes can also be affixed as done in Speed Post articles. • Bar code range will be allotted to the customer from which customers have to print the barcode serially on e-IOD articles.

  13. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • The bar code will contain 13 numeric characters only. Ex. 1012345678001. First 2 digits denote Postal Region. Next 11 digits would be in serial order.

  14. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • The articles should be presented duly sorted delivery PO wise, bundled pin code wise, alongwith a statement showing the range of barcodes on the mail pieces at the time of posting.

  15. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • If the articles posted in more than one bundle ( i.e. for different pin codes), the check slip of the bundle should also contain the barcode range of the articles.

  16. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • Minimum no. of articles to be posted under e-IOD NBMS - 10000 Nos. Bill Mail Service - 5000 Nos. Letters/ILC/PC - 5000 Nos. Book Post/ Direct Post - 5000 Nos. Newspapers - 5000 Nos. Regd. Letters / Parcels - 200 Nos. Parcels / VPP - 200 Nos. Greeting/ Invitation Cards - 200 Nos.

  17. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • Charge for articles to be posted under e-IOD is 50 Paise to paid in the form of Postage / Frank alongwith the actual postage of the article. • In case of NBMS, no e-IOD charges would be payable as e-IOD is an integral part of NBMS.

  18. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • A receipt will be generated on acceptance of e-IOD articles through e-IOD software. (or) A signed copy of the receipt form will be returned to the customer.

  19. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • The delivery information will start coming to sender by email after one day of posting & will continue for next few days. However, no intimation would be issued for e-IOD articles booked more than 10 days before.

  20. CONDITIONS OF POSTING UNDER e-IOD • If no delivery information received within 10 days, customer can take up the matter with the office of posting, in writing. However, no such request would be entertained after 15 days of posting of articles.
