  1. End of the Year Math Project 6th Grade Mathematics

  2. Project? • You have 3 Options when it comes to the project. • Mathematicians/Inventors • Summer Vacation • Build your Own Business

  3. Mathematicians/Inventor • In this project, you will be researching a famous Mathematician or Inventor. • Choose a mathematician or inventor and gather information from online resources and books. • You will create a 10-20 slide power point presentation or a tri-fold posterboard to present.

  4. Summer Vacation • In this project, you will plan your dream vacation. • You can make your destination anywhere in the world. • However, you must plan every detail: • cost of transportation, number of miles, cost of lodging, cost of visiting the local museums, shops, etc., cost of food, and anything else. • You will create a tri-fold posterboard or 10-20 slide powerpoint presentation.

  5. Build Your Own Business • In this project you will create your own business. • You will pitch your business to the class. • You will calculate your profits or losses, your expenses, your revenue, etc. • You will present graphs of your company’s profit. • You can present with a 10-20 slide powerpoint or a tri-fold posterboard.

  6. Remember • Use the project form you were given in class for helpful hints of things to include in your project. • You can either do a trifold posterboard or a 10-20 slide powerpoint.

  7. How do I get a good grade? • First and Foremost Work Hard and do you personal BEST!!!!!!!!!!!! • You must have either a Trifold Posterboard or a 10-20 Slide Powerpoint Presentation • PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR WORK

  8. Tri-Fold Posterboard • Have lots of Pictures • Make it interactive if possible. • Make it relevant to the subject. • Use lots of color and facts… if you are pitching a business sell it!!!!!!!

  9. Continued… • Use proper Grammer and Spelling • Careless errors and unprofessional looking work will count off. • You can be creative!!! (use glitter, markers, colored pencils, etc.)

  10. Powerpoint • At minimum it must be 10 well developed slides. • Slides must contain transitions • Powerpoint should have sounds or music of some kind. • Again: Make it relevant to the subject.

  11. Continued • Slides must have creative backgrounds and wording should transition. • Use lots of pictures and clip art. • This is a representation of your best work, so do your best.

  12. Final Note • Project is due May 6,2013 • DO YOUR PERSONAL BEST • There is no excuse for not completing the assignment, you have the entire school year.
