Power Generation Menu Basic Information To search for manuals that apply to a specific Power Generation product or product model you must enter the Serial Number (SN) or the Plant, Model, and Spec of the product. This information can be found on the unit’s dataplate which is shown in the next slides. This link will allow you to use advanced search features to find specific manuals and other CPG literature. This link allows you to check for changes to manuals based on selected criteria.

Use this information to perform a “Search by Plant, Model, or Spec” search in QSOL. Power Generation Menu Basic Information This link lets you see a Bill of Materials at the time of manufacture by entering a product Serial Number, it also provides a breakdown of a part number, (if you have the appropriate access rights). This link lets you see a Bill of Materials by entering a Part Number, it provides a breakdown of that part number, (if you have the appropriate access rights). These links take you to PG Tools for PGBU SRTs, the Distributor Data Access Drawings, a page detailing how to order hardcopy PG manuals and the PGBU Warranty System, (if you have the appropriate access rights).

20. Power Generation Menu Serial Number Content Search To search for manuals that apply to a specific Power Generation product enter a Serial Number (SN). This produces a list of documentation configured to the product specifics at the time of shipping. It also returns the main product characteristics and Warranty information.

21. Power Generation Menu Engineer to Order Indication When a serial number is used to return a Bill of Materials (BoM) or a documentation set for with a product that was produced through the Engineer to Order (ETO) process QSOL displays an indicator. This is an indication that the documents returned may not fully align to the configuration of the product and that some of the parts in the BoM may not be readily available.

22. Power Generation Menu News Items Go to the “News” section and look at the items to see more information on new features that have been added. This section contains both Engine Business and Power Generation news.

23. Power Generation Menu HTML Content Many manuals are only available in PDF format, however many are also available in HTML format. To open, click on the icon of the format in which you wish to view the manual. Go to the “News” section and click “Generator Content HTML Content” to learn about more features.

24. Power Generation Menu HTML Content HTML manuals can be viewed quicker in the field versus opening a PDF manual. You can go through the manual one page at a time by clicking here. 25. Power Generation Menu PDF Settings To ensure that all CPG PDFs open properly, please take the steps shown below to check that your browser settings are correct. Click Start (button in lower left corner), choose “All Programs”. Open the “CutePDF” folder and select “CutePDF Form Filler. In the Cute PDF Form Filler program, select View. The "Open PDF Form in Browser" setting should not be checked. If it is checked, uncheck it.

26. Power Generation Menu Literature Search Use the Global Literature Number Search to find specific documents or manuals without having to enter the Plant, Model, and Spec of the generator. The Advanced Search feature allows you to customize your search by choosing categories from the drop-down menus. You can search by date, document type, region, manual type, keyword, and plant, model, and spec. You can also search for documents in a specific language, or search all languages.

27. Power Generation Menu PGBU Smart Filter You can use the PGBU Smart Filter feature to search for documents that are either new or that have recently been updated. Click View/Edit to select criteria. This window allows you to set the criteria for your search. After selecting which options you want, click “Save Changes” to view the results. 28. Power Generation Menu Bill of Materials – PGBU Product View the Bill of Materials for a specific generator by inputting the Generator Serial Number and clicking “Search”. Any individual component serial numbers will be shown in this column

35. Power Generation Menu Help Desk If you encounter any issues with content or performance with CPG material on QuickServe Online, please submit a QuickServe Online Help Desk ticket. Look for the “Contact Us” link located in the page header. Be sure to select one of the “Generator Set/Alternator” modules so that your ticket is routed to the appropriate group.
