Interactions • Patient: • Social contact through Videoconference • Learning self-management of disease • Nurse: • Follow-up through Videoconference • Provide patient education & counselling • Ensure medication compliance • Monitor Vital signs - 8 common types • Record Visit Notes • Physician: • Patient Status Report from Nurse for periodic check-ups

  5. Other Ingredients • Security • Cost • Patient Monitors: approx. $15K for 8 common parameters • Plus about $3K for • modems • Tel lines • cameras • videoconference via TV or computer

  6. Diagnoses • Templates for specific diagnoses guide the nurse in asking questions, and note-taking • Statistics for some hundreds of patient televisits is required to come to any conclusion
