Background of the study • Stress – A feeling of being overwhelmed, worried or run down; physical, mental or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension. • Effect – Lead to both physical and psychological health issues (Baum, 1990). • Research shows that all final year female students in every engineering course in UTHM were stressed (Mustafa, et. al., 2009).

  3. Problem statements • Too much stress can be detrimental to the health and it can adversely affect the immune, cardiovascular, neuroendocrine and central nervous system. (Anderson, 1998) • Stress can affect behavioral and physical changes such as physical pain, emotional disturbance and lower productivity level. (Greenberg, 2013) • In university and college environment, stress factors can be classified into academic, interpersonal, environmental, financial, social, health and time related issues. (Mustafa, et. al., 2009) • Stress can adversely affect academic performance and health as well as incite suicidal thoughts in educational environment. (Deckro, et. al., 2002)

  4. Objectives • To identify the factors of stress among FKEE final year students. • To propose preventative measures and solutions to overcome stress among FKEE students.

  5. SCOPE • Sample population: 100 final year students from FKEE (50 males + 50 females) • Sample are randomly selected.

  6. Project significance • By the end of the research, factors affecting stress among FKEE final year students are identified. • Therefore, solutions to the problem could be proposed in order to help them to cope with and reduce their stress level.

  7. Research methodology PRIMARY DATA • Collecting Data: Questionnaire forms contains sample demography, factors of stress and the solution to solve the stress, based on 5 level Likert Scale. • Interview UTHM Counsellor Analyse Data: Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to get the mean score and percentage. • To get the exact population of FKEE final year students, data would be taken from Pejabat Pengurusan Akademik (PPA).
