  2. Who are we? • Office of Highway Safety Planning (OHSP) • 8 LEL’s , statewide coverage • Assist L.E. with grant/Challenge related activities • Identify ways to encourage and promote traffic safety to L.E.

  3. Problems Identified • No organization for road officers • Access to information sporadic, confusing • Quality programs unrecognized • Concerns of road officers unrecognized

  4. Traffic Enforcement AssociationofMichigan • Targeting needs and concerns of road officers • Central location for everything related to traffic enforcement • Information relevant to all law enforcement • Training

  5. MISSION “To increase the knowledge and skills of law enforcement professionals by using traffic enforcement as a means to reduce crime, traffic deaths, and injuries in the State of Michigan.”

  6. VISION “It is the vision of the Traffic Enforcement Association of Michigan to increase awareness of traffic safety and enforcement, and to provide law enforcement officers with the support necessary to successfully carry out their traffic programs.”
