  1. Prison Love BY JAMI CRAWFORD

  2. Why would a person marry someone in prison? • Rescue fantasies • Need to nurture • The perfect boyfriend: she knows where he is at all times, and while she can now claim that someone loves her, she does not have to endure the day-to-day issues of most relationships; she can keep the fantasy charged up for a long time. • Need for drama: during the trial, the daily events in the lives of serial killers may attract women who want to get close to the adversarial atmosphere and the possibility that something surprising may occur. • Low self-esteem: some man/women believe they cannot find a woman/man and since men in prison are desperately lonely, it's an easy way to get involved

  3. Continued…. • Attention: when they do something like get involved with a killer, people talk about them and often the media puts a spotlight on them • They evolve from Nobodies into Somebodies • The chance to show their mettle: they align themselves against the world in a heated defense of their beloved • Beauty and the Beast syndrome: they like the idea of getting close to danger that will probably not hurt them, but there's always the slight chance

  4. BUT WHY SHOULD I CARE? Daughter or Mother Sister Friend Dad

  5. PAM BOOKER http://youtu.be/pfqAr6yLCGM Her parents didn’t think she would fall in love with an inmate!

  6. How Does one find a prison soul mate? • They might have know them before they went to prison. • They might know someone in prison and that prisoner puts them in contact with another inmate. • They could go searching for them on one of the many website setup for inmate dating.

  7. Juli Cummings Knew Ric years before he went to prison. 13. MARY AND JONNY’S WEDDING AND A ANOTHER LUCKY COUPLE • http://youtu.be/591ULNdn6PM?t=2m13s http://youtu.be/591ULNdn6PM?t=42m1s

  14. ON ALL OF THESE MARRIAGES ONLY 1% End up working.

  15. But…. One of these lucky couples marriages is still going strong since their spouse got an early release from prison.

  16. JULI AND RIC This is Zed giving Ric his first haircut in Seattle since his release on Oct. 18th, 2012. Ric is the first and currently only person featured in the Prison Wives series to be released from prison. We are going on 6 months following release. Our lives have been truly blessed. Ric was the last man out of prison in Oklahoma with the early release consideration system of parole. Sadly the parole board is being wrongly attacked by a crazy DA in Oklahoma. We are still in shock and disbelief at how close we came to not seeing Ric released from his 71 year sentence for a non violent drug crime for which his codefendant served 10 months.
