Deltoid • Body Location- Scapula • Origin- Acromion process on the medial side of the clavicle and the spine of the scapula • -spinal head • -acromial head • -clavicular head • Insertion- Deltoid tuberosity on the humerus • Motions- anterior- shoulder flexion and internal rotation, posterior- shoulder extension and external rotation, all areas- shoulder abduction • Uses- lifting arm alone, lifting weights, shrugging Spine head Acromion head Clavicular head Humerus tuberosity

  5. Vastus Medialis • body location- upper leg, thigh • origin- between greater trochanterand lesser trochanter and medial lip of linea aspera. • insertion- patella and tibial tuberosity. • motion- knee extension • daily uses- walking running, going up stairs, bending down.

  6. Vastus lateralis • body location- upper leg, thigh • origin- greater trochanter and upper half of linea aspera. • insertion- patella and the tibial tuberosity. • motion- extension of the knee • Daily activities- walking, standing up, biking.

  7. Vatus intermedius • body location- upper leg, thigh • origin- anterior and lateral surface of shaft of femur. • insertion- patella, tibial tuberosity. • motion- knee extension • daily uses- walking, running, jumping

  8. sartorius • body location- upper leg/pelvic girdle. • origin- between anterior superior illiac spine and anterior inferior illiac spine. • insertion- anterior medial condyle on the tibia • motion- flexion of hip, flexion of knee, rotation of hip, and abducts the hip. • daily uses-sitting in crossed leg position.

  9. Rectus femoris • body location- upper leg thigh • origin- Anterior Inferior Iliac Spine • insertion- top of patella, and tibial tuberosity. • motion- flexion of hip, extension of knee. • daily uses- kicking a ball, walking
