  8. Does it Work? • A decade ago an average of 22 children per year died in school bus stop related injuries • School Systems began to teach students where to walk while boarding and exiting the school bus • There were only 3 in 2000

  9. Wrap-up • Need to be familiar with school transportation and Fire Rescue operations • Need to have a plan to deal with incidents • Need to practice that plan • Constantly need to re-evaluate training, the plan itself, and execution of the plan • Make the public your informed ally
