Career description and details

  • Multimedia Developers generate, manipulate and create graphics, images, animations, sound, text and video into integrated multimedia programs.

  • Multimedia Developers also must talk with clients to see what is required, investigate analyze and recommend appropriate equipment and software to achieve the clients' objectives.

  • Multimedia Developers can be self-employed, but many also developers are employed.


Skills
Skills

  • Multimedia Developers incorporate animation, sound, video, and database functions to create dynamic experiences.

  • Multimedia Developers must be adaptable to many different situations, creative and artistic, patient and attentive to detail, and must have technical aptitude.

  • To be successful in this career you do not have to be a proficient musician. Your success relies on being talented in computer programming and developing, even though the experience of being a musician would help you understand your clients better.

  • To be successful, you want to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from the college of your choice. Obtaining a degree in this field does not secure employment and or success.

  • You can obtain a two-year degree, but it will not be as beneficial to you as in you learn a lot less than a four year degree.

  • As technology is always competitive and growing, there will always be a need for the Multimedia Developer. There will always be opportunities in and outside of the music business to take advantage of.

  • Personally I would address this issue by making sure that if I am employed, that my employment comes with some form of health care and insurance, even if this means making a little bit less on my salary.

  • Multimedia Developers can survive and be successful on just relying on their job.

  • The Multimedia Developer is a excellent career of choice if you love to be creative and innovative in today’s technological standards. This field is in great demand and pays well if you enter it. To be successful in this field you must love the work you do and always be dedicated to getting better.
