  1. TURKISH PETROLEUM COMPANY DATABANK PROJECT PRESENTATION MARCH 2011

  2. ROLE OF TPAO AT NDR * GDPA(General Directorate of Petroleum Affair -PIGEM) is the National Regulatory Authority for the Petroleum and Gas Industry . * In the Country government structure PIGEM works under the Ministry of Energy. * In the name of PIGEM, TPAO holds all collected seismic and well data together with core samples. When requires with instruction of PIGEM it can be delivered to operators.

  5. HISTORY OF DATABANK PROJECT 2005-Determining of requirements • 2006-Starting of the project • Installation • System management & Data loading trainings • Defining data loading standarts • Pilot project data loading • 2007-Continuing to data loading • Tests completed • Data loading started(Phase-1) • 2008-2010 Continuing to data loading • Phase-1 • Phase-2 2011-Prepairing Phase-3

  6. GENERAL SYSTEM OUTLINE • System Hardware Outlines • 2 X IBM p550 server • 30 TB Disk storage • IBM 3594 tape library with capacity of 200TB • 5 X IBM Blade server • System Software Outlines • Petrobank MDS • Recall • Oracale Database • Power Explorer • Team Workspace

  7. LOADED DATA TYPES • Seismic navigation • Post stack seismic 2D&3D • Well logs • Seismic&Well Archives

  8. SEISMIC STATISTICS 1.PHASE 2.PHASE Total Number Of Remaining Work Siesmic Loaded

  9. WELL STATISTICS 1.PHASE 2.PHASE Total Number Of Remaining Work Well Loaded

  10. TO BE LOADED DATA TYPES • Pre-stack seismic 2D&3D • Research archives • (reports, thesis, documents of field survey, ect.) • Other cultural data • Production data • Non-seismic data (Gravity & Magnetics)

  11. ENCOUNTURED QC PROBLEMS • Navigation (Datum conversion ED50 to WGS84) • Non-standart seqy headers • Lack of seismic documents(observer logs, reports, navigation) • Mismatch of seismic navigation

  12. TO BE LOADED DATA TYPES • Pre-stack seismic 2D&3D • Research archives • (reports, thesis, documents of field survey, ect.) • Other cultural data • Production data

  13. WHAT WILL GOES INTO OUR PROSPECTIVE EXPLORATION DATABANK...? MAGNETIC TAPE ARCHIVES (Seismic Raw & Processed Data) • Field data (raw data that comes from field on magnetic cartridge), • SEGYs of raw field data, • Migration’s and FinalStack’s (FStack) SEGYs, • Few amount of well data like logs. (400*4mm+disk files (LIS,DLIS,CSU))

  14. MAGNETIC TAPES MAGNETIC TAPE ARCHIVES (Seismic Raw & Processed Data)

  17. MAGNETIC BANDS MAGNETIC TAPE ARCHIVES (Seismic Raw & Processed Data)

  18. MAGNETIC TAPE ARCHIVES (Seismic Raw & Processed Data) No need to do with the field bands...

  19. MAGNETIC TAPE ARCHIVES (Seismic Raw & Processed Data) 98% of field bands have been converted to SEGY and stored into 3590/3592/SDLT media. The rest is unreadable...

  20. MAGNETIC TAPE ARCHIVES (Seismic Raw & Processed Data) 7 Track bands belongs to late 60’s are not readable because of lack of reader. There are are about 40 of these.

  21. INFORMATION ABOUT SEISMIC FIELD DATA (FILES) Files that have Spread geomety information (Observer logs,Shot & receiver statics calculations etc..) • Hard Copies, • Floppy disks attached to these hard copies, • CD’s attached to these files rarely.

  22. COMPOSITE AND MUD LOGS • Hard Copies, • Additional to hard copies digital ones (prepared by WinLog software) present for new wells, • Total 4061 wells composite and mud logs.

  23. Hard Copies

  24. WELL COMPLETION REPORTS • Total 4061 so far... • All Hard Copy.
