  2. Science is observing, studying and experimenting to find the nature of things. • The two main branches are social science and natural science.

  3. Life science • biology

  4. Physical science • Chemistry • Physics

  5. Earth science • Geology • Meteorology

  6. Integrated Physics and Chemistry is a comprehensive course that unites two of the fundamental sciences.

  8. Theories and laws are supported by observation

  11. Scientists make laws and theories based on observations and measurements

  12. Qualitative information is based on an observation—it’s QUALITY • Quantitative information is based on mathematical equations and QUANTITY • Scientific models are used to simplify very big, very small or very complex ideas.

  13. Theories and laws are NOT absolute. • An example is the Geocentric Model
