  2. LOF Layout (Initial Concept) • Secondary requirements • Ability to house LAT collaborators during launch and initial 60 days operations • Primary requirements • LOF team (approx. 8) • SOG/SAS (approx. 2 – rest of the team is in nearby office) • Visiting scientist • Storage area

  3. Potential Sites – SLAC Campus • Prior to launch and 1st year sky survey, the LOF is located on the SLAC campus • Possible facility sites are: Kavli Building Central Lab FSW Test Bed is located within the Central Lab

  4. Possible Sites – SU Campus • Sometime after the 2nd year, the LOF is to transition onto SU campus • Potential sites are: • Varian Building • Kavli Building

  5. Other Requirements • The LOF requirements are captured in LAT-SS-01783 • All workstations at the LOF are PC based (either Windows or Linux) • No requirements for real-time commanding operations, all real-time commanding is performed at the MOC • Command files are built off-line and verified by the test bed • Primary requirements for workstations are: • Display of housekeeping telemetry • Display event messages, including command files • Telemetry processing control • Alarms and notifications • Storage of daily and weekly trending reports • Local housekeeping telemetry storage • Up to 7 days on local workstations • Expect approximately 0.6 GB/day, 4.2 GB/week • With today’s technology of 300 GB disk in PC’s, that’s 71 weeks worth of housekeeping telemetry • Typical connections • Internet (LAN and/or WAN) • Phone/Fax • Video • Presentation in section 6 addresses the software and tools for LAT operations
