  2. Mount rushmore, south dakota • The iconic faces of four of our former Presidents of the United States are carved on the Black Hills of South Dakota. They are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. They were chosen because of what each President represents: • George Washington represents the struggle for independence • Thomas Jefferson represents the idea of government by the people • Abraham Lincoln represents his ideas on equality and the permanent union of the states • Theodore Roosevelt represents the 20th century role of the U.S. in world affairs • The mountain itself was named for Charles E. Mall of America minnesota • Mall of America has been describes as a city within a city! • Here are a few interesting facts: • 7 Yankee stadiums can fit inside the Mall • 32 Boeing 747’s could fit inside the Mall • 258 Statues of Liberty could lie inside the Mall • 520+ stores are located in Mall of America • If Mount Rushmore was divided into individual monuments, a President could reside in each of the Mall’s four courts. • Let’s do some math! http://www.mallofamerica.com/about/moa

Illinois • The Ledge at Skydeck Chicago is located in the Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois • The ledge is 1,353 ft. up and the glass boxes extend out 4.3 ft. from the skyscraper’s Skydeck on the 103rd floor. • http://www.theskydeck.com/the-tower/the-skydeck-experience • Metropolis, Illinois is home to Superman! The town streets and buildings are named after characters from the comic book. • It has a 15 ft. bronze statue of Superman in the middle of Superman square.
