  5. Variables • Independent Variable– The element that we changed: The color of the water. • Dependent Variable– The element that was changed by the different colors of water. The color of the roses.

  6. Materials • Water • Clear cups • White roses • Food coloring

  7. Procedure • Pour 1 cup of water into each cup • Add 5 drops of food coloring to each cup • Place the white rose into the cup • Day 1

  9. Results Day 3- The rose petals changed to the color of the water.

  14. Conclusion • As we suggested in our hypothesis, the majority of the class thought that the petals would change to the color of the water. We were correct.
