levels of complexity.

The simple one is the 2  2 design .

The number of digits shows the number of independent

variables being studied.

The numerical value of the digits shows the number

of levels for each independent variable. (P.106)

### 六、優點

There are number of advantages in the use of the factorial

design :(p.106)

First, the researcher can treat as independent variables what

would otherwise be regarded as extraneous variables.

Secondly,many independent factors can be considered simul

-taneously in a single study,which can result in savings in effort

and work on the part of researcher.

Thirdly, the factorial design claims to have high internal validity.

Fourthly,the interaction effects of many variables can studies at

the same time which is often essential in educational research.
