  1. Comvision Making You Fight Traffic Woes with Technology’s Help Traffic congestion is a significant problem in many cities around the world. It happens due to demand-supply imbalance in the transportation network. Traffic flow slows down when the number of vehicles travel on the road increases or the roadway capacity decreases due to various reasons. It brings a series of issues including extra travel times for the drivers and passengers, increased fuel consumptions and greenhouse gas emissions, higher vehicular crash rates and so on. Comvision deals in large size system integration E-governance projects and Intelligent Transport Solutions projects like Fastag Tag Management. What makes Comvision a class apart is its extensive domain expertise of its team, who ensure Comvision delivers more than it promises.

  2. Types of Traffic Congestion • Let’s have a look at the type of traffic congestion, overall there are two types of traffic congestion, recurring and non-recurring. Experts says that about half of traffic congestion is the recurring kind, which take place daily and it is mostly due to less capacity on the road. • The other type of congestion, non-recurring, refers to the “temporary disruptions” in travel, such as bad weather or a vehicle collision. • There are four more specific categories: • Environment (non-recurring) • Mechanical (non-recurring) • Human (non-recurring) • Infrastructure (recurring)

  3. These form the reasons behind city-dwellers seeing their 30-minute commute turn into a 45-minute one • 1. Environment • Environmental factors like snow and rain, foggy weather halt the traffic sin its tracks. weather affects not just traffic but road conditions as well. Bad weather is the main culprit in 15% of traffic congestion cases. • 2. Mechanical • Mechanical failing is another reason behind congestion. While mechanical failure is the result of human error, it can also happen due to external factors such as a sudden sharp object on the road. • While humans can help prevent and decrease mechanical issues by inspecting vehicles before every trip and making sure preventive maintenance cycles are followed, either way, these issues require the driver to get off the road. When you’re on a highway, this task can prove difficult with other drivers rushing towards their destination.

  4. 3. Human • Human behaviour from distracted or drunk driving to drowsy driving or emotional driving, trigger a major cause behind many dangerous scenarios on the road. Maximum traffic snarl-ups occur due to human error. • 4. Infrastructure • Infrastructural loopholes like from potholes that cause slowdowns to bottlenecks in areas that out-populated their roadways, it is the hidden toll that amplifies traffic problems in many urban and suburban areas. • Comvision aims at addressing the traffic woes with its world class technology for smart traffic and toll collection, to give you a smooth and stress-free ride on the road.
