  1. Forty years, sixteen days: Will two old friends walk the Pennine Way - again? Walk with Duncan and Chris as they take two journeys along the great Pennine footpath, forty years apart. Has the Way changed over four decades? Have they changed? Over the many days and miles they describe and photograph all that is glorious about the Pennine Way, and some things that aren't:on their plan to take on the challenge ... it's not regarded as normal behaviour to want to walk the Pennine Way once, let alone twice ... on supplies ... we learnt that only an idiot attempts the Pennine Way with several days worth of tinned food in his rucksack ... on clothing ... there was a reason why flared denims were not de rigueur for walkers ... on equipment ... we needed to learn how to erect the tent before venturing out in the Pennines, but we had not a square foot of garden between us, so where could we do that? Well - obviously - in the middle of the Robin Hood roundabout on the A11 ... on the Pennine Way ... on the slopes of Bleaklow the peat-scape became eternal, a wallow, a land without landmarks, where the imprints of passing walkers were quickly swallowed. Here was peat in the raw and it meant business ... With over two hundred full colour pictures you'll have a front seat view of the entire walk.Whether you're a seasoned walker or Sunday stroller let these two old friends show you the Way.
