The Texas Education Agency (TEA) invites stakeholders to participate in a review of the Commissioner’s Rules from April 15 to July 23, 2010. The aim is to identify concerns, reduce unnecessary interference in district operations, improve student performance, and uphold the original intent of the rules. Eligible rules span several TAC chapters. Input is essential and can be shared electronically with specific details on issues, proposed changes, and rationales. The process also includes regional meetings and webinars.

Purpose • Identify areas of concern • Eliminate unnecessary interference with district ability to improve student performance • Improve district ability to operate efficiently and effectively • Preserve original intent of rule
Eligible for review: • Commissioner Rules in 19 TAC Chapters: • 30, 53, 61, 62, 74-76, 89, 95, 97, 100-103, 105, 109, 129, 150, 153, 157, 161, and 176 • Any Commissioner’s rules proposed for adoption • Corresponding TEA regulations and guidance related to Commissioner’s rules • Not eligible: TEKS and other SBOE rules
