  1. Fitness For Life Course Elective course taken during the Junior or Senior Year. Focus-Life time Activities/Fitness

  2. Activities: • Inside Aerobic games • Archery-compound bows • Volleyball • Badminton-Round Robin Tournament Outside: • Golf • Bicycling • Disc Golf • Tennis

  3. Assessments: • Daily assessment grade = 3 points 3 points- student is totally involved in game play. Understand and apply the rules of the game/unit correctly. Is actively involved in game play both offensively, and defensively. 2 points- student is moderately involved in game play. Understands rules, but is limited to movement offensively, and defensively.

  4. Assessment-Continued • 1 point= student is inactive during game play. Student makes little to no effort in hustling, making contact with game object. Relies on team mates to do a majority of the work. (Don’t be a coach potato)

  5. Other Assessments: • Skill assessment – end of most units. (10 points) • Written rules quiz- study guides are available (20 points)

  6. Absences: • This class involves active participation. • It is difficult to grade your performance if you are frequently absent. • Allow 3 absences in a marking period, no penalty. On the 4th absence, you will have to make up the class time missed.

  7. Uniform Requirements: • Black, white, red, gray, shorts/shirt, and sneakers. (Hempfield colors). • May wear sweats- may be any color. • Yoga pants • No boxer shorts, or P.J.’s. • (Should be a change of clothing)- • Not your “street clothes”. • (NO Flip Flops)

  8. If you forget your uniform: • Ask to “loan” a uniform. Full credit for the class period, and regular assessment points may be earned. If student refuses to wear the loaned uniform, they will be sent to ISSP for the period. Student is unable to earn the assessment points for the period.

  9. Uniform Continued: • Repeated uniform infractions may result in discipline referral to principal. (ISSP). Student will not earn assessment points for that period. Each student will have their own assigned locker In the locker room. Keep combination confidential.

  10. Typical Class Period: • Arrive to class on TIME. • Go to locker room, and change into p.e. attire. • Sit in squads for attendance • Skill/game will be introduced, demonstrated. • Teams will be presented for activity of the day. • Allow 8-10 minutes to change back into clothes at end of period. • Wait in lobby until dismissal bell. Stay off the ramp. • Your class may also have to help put equipment away.

  11. Medical Notes: • If you are on a “medical note”, get the doctor to be specific on the excuse. Can you go to the weight room, upper or lower body exercises? • Written assignments completed in library. • Doctor note should have a date of follow up appointment or when you are able to begin activity again.
