  2. SNOMED CT to ICD-10-CM Mappping Feb. 2012: From 7,277 concepts (CORE subset + others) with I-MAGIC demo tool Apr. 2012: Implementation Guide for I-MAGIC June 2012: From ~15,000 concepts • Purpose: Ongoing use in systems that assist providers or professional coders

  4. ICD-9-CM to SNOMED CT Mapping • May 2012: From 8,334 codes (~90% of use based on 2009 CMS data) • Purpose: Aid for one-time transition to use of SNOMED CT in problem list

  5. Upcoming SNOMED CT Expansion - Devices • 4/2012 - IHTSDO and Global Medical Device Nomenclature (GMDN) Agency sign agreement • GMDN to form basis of expanded medical device component of SNOMED CT • Initial content (not fully modeled) to be released initially in an extension to SNOMED CT in 8/2012 • Active GMDN concepts, excluding in vitro diagnostics

Upcoming SNOMED CT Expansion - Dentistry • 5/2012 - IHTSDO and American Dental Association sign agreement • All novel (non-SNOMED CT) content in SNODENT to be submitted for inclusion in SNOMED CT via NLM • Any not suitable for international release will remain US extension to SNOMED CT • Initial additions to appear in July 2012 release of SNOMED CT • IHTSDO to form Dental SIG, initial chair to be nominated by President of ADA
