3. Our private secondary school is situated in the town of Náchod near the border with Poland. The school islocated at the edge of Náchod, in a calm environment, near the renaissance Nachod castle.

4. HISTORY Our school was founded in 1992. The first study courses were: a 4-year course concluded with final exam (maturita) - EconomistBusinessman a 2-yearhigher professional course (after maturita exam) - Management and Marketing In 1994 – a new course Management of Travel and Tourismwas opened In 1996 - the course of Economist Businessman was transformed into the Business Academy and later into the course of Economical Lyceum In 1998 – the 2-year course of Management and Marketing was stopped

5. PRESENT Nowadays our secondary school provides students with four study courses: 64-42-M/040 Management of Travel and Tourism 78-42-M/002 Economic Lyceum Language Lyceum 79-41-K/401 Gymnasium - General -our secondary school is private and offerscourses which aren´t common and easily available in public schools - special importance is given to teaching of the following foreign languages:English, German, French, Spanish, Russian - students are provided with the possibility to getinternational certificates in foreign languages (e.g. FCE exam in English) and at the IT field and typing which enable them to get a better chance to study at universities andto get a better job - students have the possibility to eat in the school cafeteria and in case of need they can be accommodated in a student dormitory

7. Ourschoolislocated in a smallerbuildingconsistingof: • 9 classrooms + 2 computer classrooms Timetables: adapted for students commutingfrom distantplaces – withoutafternoon classes. Quantity of students in a classroom: limited to enableteachers to have betterpersonalrelationship with students.

Examples of international and national projects with participation of students: UNESCO – student´s cooperation in international projects (students exchanges) COMENIUS – transnational visits in the EU with organization TANDEM Germany. Presentations of studentsin English in the foreign partner schools. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT – students set up real companies which are registered by the Czech government and they learn how to set up, run and close down a company. CLUB OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN the CR – projects about protection of the environement and their presentation at secondary schools in the CR

9. Criteria for acceptance The acceptance to our school is based on a good result in the entrance exam and on the base of aschool reportstating good notes from primary school. Good results in various competitions are also taken into account.

11. Management of Travel and Tourism This course is suitable for students wholike travelling, history and are interested in foreign languages. Students should be able to perform various functions in many kinds of business. Graduates can work in many organizations which are focused primarily on relations with foreign countries, tourism, hotel operations, working in reception and even information centers, they are able to lead and manage a tour, make calculations and organize various services. In the end of study, students are provided with the opportunity to become a licensed tourist guide. Students learn how to run a business company in the projects of STUDENT´S COMPANY which are established and run by students. Their companies are registered by the Ministry of the Interior. The school enables students to get a professional experience in many castles and palaces, for example: in the castle of Karlštejn, Kynžvart, Horšovský Týn, Lednice and in natural parks and historical places: Adršpašsko-Teplické skály Rocks and military fortress Dobrošov, places in Prague

Gymnasium Economical Lyceum Language Lyceum Ideal offers for students who want to have attractive and improved preparation for study at universities of various types (economical studies, humanistic studies, language education) Students can choose optional subjects in: Ecology Management and Marketing The third foreign language (obligatory for Language Lyceum) or even the fourth foreign language

15. Castles NACHOD CASTLE– it’s a typical castle from the age of Renaissance. NOVÉ MĚSTO NAD METUJÍ CASTLE– the castle was built together with the town as a gothic castle which protected the town

16. Opočno castle– the most beautiful renaissance castle in our surroundings Rychnov nad Kněžnou castle– the castle with the church Holy Trinity is one of the biggest and the most beautiful baroque buildings in the CR.

17. Potštejn castle– one of the largest ruins in CR. Doudleby nad Orlicí castle – another beautiful renaissance castle

19. Dobrošov Fortress in Náchod– construction of this military fortress is associated with the Second World War.
