BPS will have a total of 126 schools this year. • 2 district schools also have some curricular autonomy as “Discovery Schools” (Hernandez K-8 and Rogers MS) 2

BOSTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS We established a new process this year to seek applications for autonomous schools • In June 2013, BPS released the 2014-15 Autonomous Schools RFP • Single application aligns key deadlines with district budget and staffing timelines • Application process included review of innovation prospectuses and final innovation plans • Two Innovation plans have completed the full process and will be shared tonight • Charlestown Diploma Plus Innovation Academy • Henderson K-12 Innovation Inclusion School
