  3. ASM- Language Specific Training Project Aims Engage small ethnic agencies in training Provide culturally appropriate training – to whole spectrum of roles and Assist agencies in ASM implementation Contribute to well being of CALD clients

  4. ASM- Language Specific Training Engagement/Participation 14 sessions 12 different communities 186 people

  5. ASM- Language Specific Training Enabling Factors established relationships trust willing to work with new initiatives ethnic sector valued inclusive process quality of trainer culturally relevant materials

  6. ASM- Language Specific Training Process Planning - working party Implementation -trainer, target agencies & co-ordinators Evaluation -participants, trainer & DH

Planning ASM- Language Specific Training • determine role of Working Party • decide parameters of project • target CALD communities • recruit suitable trainer • liaise with target communities- language needs • determine content , appropriate delivery & evaluation methods • produce succinct one page ASM information • translate & proof read ASM document • source DH translated ASM information • schedule training sessions to suit participants (time & place) • brief trainer about each agency ( eg .ASM plans)

Implementation • relevant interpreters booked & briefed prior to each session • culturally appropriate catering arranged in consultation • transport arranged where necessary • supply of all relevant handouts ensured • facilitators were present as observers & ‘worry person’ ASM- Language Specific Training

Evaluation • Evaluation was sought after each session from • Participants-Individually or collectively- verbal or written • Observers- written and verbal • Evaluation collated by trainer and presented to Working Party • Evaluation was also carried out by Working Party. • -Evaluating the process, planning & implementation- ASM- Language Specific Training
