  1. Utspelas ofta i en fantasivärld • Kan också utspela sig i två världar som är förenade med varandra: en verklig värld och en fantasivärld • Fantasivärlden kan t ex vara • i en annan tid – ofta medeltid • i ett land långt borta • på en planet • ett land under vatten FANTASY

  2. Man kan ta sig till den magiska världen genom en port, t.ex. genom ett: klädskåp, en ring av stenar, vatten, en grotta, ett kaninhål, eller en spegel • Den magiska världen befolkas av traditionella sagofigurer men de har inte samma roller. FANTASY

  3. Magiska föremål, t.ex. ringar, stenar och svärd förekommer och de kan ofta tas med in i den verkliga världen. • Tiden står ofta still när man är i den magiska världen. • Det finns många karaktärer, både onda och goda. • Vanligtvis brukar de onda försöka ta över världen i början av berättelsen, medan hjälten/huvudpersonen gör allt för att skydda den. • Oftast vinner hjälten(som ofta är ett barn) till slut. FANTASY

Huvudpersonen, hjälten, har ett uppdrag, ofta något eller någon den söker efter. • Det är vägen dit, hur hjälten löser detta, som är berättelsens handling. • Man får följa hur utmaningar och prövningar blir lösta, och hur målet eller gåtans lösning kommer närmare. • Både hjälten och hans fiender använder magi för att försvara sig och för att attackera andra.   12. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) J. R. R. Tolkien was an English writer, poet and university professor. He is best known as the author of the classic fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion. He was a close friend of C. S. Lewis, the author of The Chronicles of Narnia. They were criticized for stealing ideas from each other’s books and also for their ”childish” books when they first were published. FANTASY

  13. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) At age four Tolkien with his mother and younger brother, settled down near Birmingham, England, after his father, a bank manager, died in South Africa. He could read by the age of four, and could write fluently soon afterwards. His mother allowed him to read many books. He liked reading Fantasy books and Fairy tales. He got married in 1916 and had four children. He started writing about the myths and legends of Middle-earth, which became The Silmarillion. FANTASY

  14. John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) Around 1933, Tolkien first began telling his children of a funny little creature named Bilbo. Tolkien got the idea for The Hobbit from these stories, and in 1936, he completed the book. In 1945, Tolkien became Merton Professor of English Language and Literature at Oxford. He completed the sequel (fortsättningen) to The Hobbit in 1948. The first two parts were published in 1954, under the titles The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers. A year later, the third part, The Return of the King was published. FANTASY

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892-1973) The lands of Middle-earth are populated by Men (humans) and other humanoid races (Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs), as well as many other creatures, both real and fantastic (Ents, Balrogs…) The story is about the struggle between good and evil. The story's main antagonist is The Dark Lord Sauron, who had in an earlier age created the One Ring to rule the other Rings of Power and to rule all of Middle-earth. Saruman is the evil leader of Middle Earth. In the three books/films you can follow the young hobbit Frodo Baggins as he and a Fellowship try to destroy the One ring and The Dark Lord Sauron.   16. Clive Staples Lewis(1898-1963) C. S Lewis was a northern Irishauthor and literay critic, among other things. He prefered to be called Jack Lewis. He was a close friend of J. R. R Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings. To us he is best known as the author of the fantasy works about Narnia. Narnia, is a place where animals talk, magic is common, and good battles evil. FANTASY

  17. Clive Staples Lewis(1898-1963) His friends, his publisher and J.R.R. Tolkien in particular, criticized Lewis's first Narnia book, ”The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. Thankfully, Lewis didn't listen to any of them and it was published in 1950. He wrote six more books about Narnia until 1956. In ”The Lion , the Witch and the Wardrobe” Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy find their way through an old wardrobe into the world of Narnia. There, they helped Aslan, the Lion, to fight the White Witch and save Narnia from Darkness. FANTASY

  18. Clive Staples Lewis(1898-1963) The Narnia books have since sold more than 100 million copies and are among the most beloved books of classic children's literature. In December 2005 the first film about Narnia was released and it was a success. It won many rewards. There are also older films which have been sent on TV . Prins Caspian, the sequel, was released in 2008. FANTASY
