  3. Commitatus • Wiglaf fights with Beowulf • No one helps Beowulf in his endeavor against the Dragon

  4. Conflict • Beowulf v. Dragon • Beowulf is bitten by the poisoned tusk of the Dragon and is dying • Beowulf slices Dragon in half with dagger and kills Dragon

  5. The End of Beowulf • Beowulf is dying • Beowulf names Wiglaf the successor of the throne • End of Canto 37 • Funeral pyre • Monument errected
