  2. Warm-up • When looking at tracked changes, explain what each of the following indicates • A line through the text • A line under the text • A double line under the text • A different colored comment bubble

  3. Keyboarding Practice • Complete the building speed keyboarding practice lesson. • Remember, the way you practice is the way you will perform. Practice correctly!!!

  4. Digital Signatures • A digital signature is an electronic stamp given only to you that authenticates a documents. • You can purchase a verifiable digital signature through a Microsoft partner or you can create your own using the digital signature application in Word. Personally created signatures will appear on documents but are not verifiable by outside sources. • New tech, New Options • With the advent of tablets and touch screens, it is possible to physically sign documents using a stylus or even your finger.

Sharing on an on-line Word Processor • There are several on-line word processing programs to choose from. • Advantages: • Work on any internet capable computer • Uses the same software as Word • Allows for multiple types of documents • Saves info and docs to the web • Disadvantages: • Must have internet access to work • Some features may be disabled • Older versions of software will not be able to view your work

Sharing on an on-line Word Processor • SkyDrive: Microsoft’s version of the “Cloud” (work done in a virtual environment. • Using a Windows Live ID you can access a SkyDrive Account which will allow you to upload documents and work on them in the Microsoft web apps. • You can also share your documents with other users to collaborate on projects. • Google Docs: Google’s version of the “Cloud” allows you to create, save, and share documents online with other users. It is more difficult to upload documents that are not created online. • Both services are free. You just need to create an account.

  7. For Today… • Complete the following assignments in order and submit to the SkyDrive: • Comparing Documents • You may need to redo Managing Reviewers • Advanced Find and Replace • Digital Signature • Explore both SkyDrive and Google Docs options. • Complete the Unit 8 Practice
