  1. Welcome to Beechwood Netball Club Proud to be a club run entirely by volunteers.

  2. General Netball Info Netball can be played at many levels: • School • Club • County (eg: Cheshire) • Region (eg: Northwest) • National (ie: England) Check out the England Pathway: http://www.englandnetball.co.uk/youth-zone/England_Pathway

  3. High 5 • For players at primary school the recommended format for netball is High 5 (for boys and girls) • Squad Size = 7-9 • Players on court = 5 • Players play in a rotation (pre determined by England Netball) • Positions are Goal Keeper (GK) Goal Defence (GD) Centre (C) Goal Attack (GA) Goal Shooter (GS) • See the following link for more info: www.englandnetball.co.uk/my-game/High_5

  4. Training • Training for the High 5 section is run by Jenny Bignall 07725764872. • Training Subs are payable monthly by standing order £4.00 per month for infant school age £6.50 per month junior school age • Coaches: Jane Hayes, Roberta Maddox, Julie Southall, Saxon Van Onselen, and Melanie Morris. • Players will need: shorts/tracksuit, t shirt, supportive trainers, socks that come over the ankle, bobble for long hair, no jewellery. • A drink of water is essential!

  5. Kit Kit is available to order from Jenny: • Navy blue skort (skirt with built in shorts) • Light blue top • We encourage parents and players to fundraise for other kit items, such as hoodies, tracksuits etc and other essential club costs. • We would encourage you to buy each child their own size 4 netball to bring to training but this is NOT essential. (normally about £5 – see Jenny for advice)

  6. Leagues and Matches • We play matches on a Sunday at The Ball Hall, Warrington, WA4 1JL, throughout the year. • We also enter teams into the Cheshire Junior Netball League which plays approx once a month on a Sunday. • Every player who plays in the leagues needs to: 1. play in kit whenever possible 2. be an England Netball member.

  7. England Memberships • Memberships (or affiliations) to England Netball have lots of benefits; see www.englandnetball.co.uk/membership • Cost approx£7 per year (11 & under) • Completed via club (see Jenny) • Child gets insurance (essential for all players in our club), posters, stickers, wristband and more. • Payable at end of July each year.
