  1. What is life like as an Outbound Telesales agent? Telesales companies are in great demand in today’s day and age as more and more businesses turn to them to outsource their marketing activities. This in turn has resulted in great career opportunities in this sector. However many job seekers are still unaware on the great potential that lies in this field. They are also not aware of the actual tasks that this job entails. The primary task of an outbound telesales agent is to call prospects and convince them to buy or sign up for the product or service that is on offer. However not all individuals are suited for this type of job. Some people are not good on the phone and do not possess the skills to convince people. If you feel that you have the talent to converse with people on the phone and persuade them with your communication skills then this is This is a desk job and you would work with a team of agents who are all trying to pitch the same product or service to prospects. Some companies also offer work from home tasks. The company also procures data of the target audience and you need to make sequential calls and offer an enticing sales pitch. Outbound telesales services usually offer one of the following two pay options. You could opt to be paid a flat salary at the end of the month or you could opt for a commission based structure where the more leads you generate or convert the more money you could end up making. A fixed salary offers peace of mind where your take home is assured and you would be judged on performance from time to time. Growth is on an annual basis where you would be eligible for a raise in salary and may be offered some bonus from time to time based on performance. However if you are a go getter, confident in nature and trust your marketing abilities then the commission based structure is definitely made for you. Your destiny is in your complete control and that is the way you should like it to be. Your take home may vary from month to month but it does not restrict you to a maximum earning ceiling. Your growth could be exponentially higher than your peers as you can sell or convert as many leads as possible thereby sky rocketing your earning potential. definitely the job for you. To excel in this field there are a number of skills that you must have at your disposal. Do you think you are confident to engage in a meaningful conversation with people whom you don’t know and are talking to for the first time and then use your communication skills to convince them to buy from you? Be aware that not all prospects are going to be receptive of you or your approach positively or kindly. You need to be ready for rude and aggressive behavior at times and develop a thick skin to quickly forget this or use your talent to chip away at their Armour and slowly but surely turn them into a receptive audience. This is not everyone’s cup of tea and requires great amount of patience and a calm and soothing nature. Your job and growth depends on your ability to convince people to open their purse strings and spend money with you. There is no dearth of outbound telesales companies and jobs. But before you jump into it you need to be selective about the kind of company that you sign up for. Research a bit and take up a job with an agency that is experienced in selling products and services that you possess at least some form of knowledge about. This will help you market the product better but will also be extremely beneficial for your career prospects as you would be in a position to quickly outperform your colleagues and peers and be perceived as a performer in your organization. If on the other hand you take up a position where you are trying to sell a product or service that you do not know much about then you will have to spend a lot of time and effort in trying to learn about it first. So you need to access your own capabilities and nature and if you decide that you are a right fit for a job as a telesales agent then do not give it a second thought and take it up as a career.
