  1. Tips on Writing an Effective Telemarketing Script Writing an effective script for your telemarketing campaign is very important. Once you have identified your database, script is the next vital step that you need to take care of. Here are some of the tips that need to be followed when writing an impactful script: • It is important to start with a good introduction and this needs to include a short and ef- fective greeting. The conversation needs to start on a strong note and it is recommended to address the prospect by his/her name. • The next thing to be included in the script is what company the telemarketer is represent- ing and why they are calling. It helps to set proper expectations when making a phone call. • The script needs to highlight the features and benefits of the products or services that company is trying to market and sell. This part of the script is very important because the features of the product or service should be mentioned in a clear and crisp manner. If the telemarketer fails to mention it clearly, the whole purpose of the call will go down the drain. • The script needs to include an offer the prospect cannot refuse. For instance, at least three features of the product or service can be explained and then it can be followed up with three benefits. • It is necessary that the script ends with questions, asking for details like email address of the prospects so that it is easy to stay connected with them. Email IDs are a great com- plement to telemarketing calls. They can be used for increasing the overall appointment setting and lead generation results. First impression matters a lot in every telemarketing campaign. Whether you are doing it in-house or hiring a telemarketing agency, without a good script, it is difficult to achieve the desired results. If you wish to let a third party handle this task, then make sure that you are choosing a good service provider. Not all companies can be trusted so do some research and com- pare two three options before making a decision. Take into consideration factors like expe- rience, reputation in the market, portfolio and rates in order to compare and hire a reliable telemarketing agency. It is very important that the telemarketers are aware of the objective for which the cam- paign is being run. This is one of the main reasons why it is necessary to hire a team of expert telemarketers. Only a good team will start with understanding the objectives of the campaign and what the business owner wants to achieve with telemarketing. Timing and persistence are two important words to make any telemarketing campaign a success. Telemarketers should know when to call and how to handle the call. They shouldn’t come across as ‘pushy’ and instead, take their time in convincing the prospect to
