Progress on Documents • Three years behind charter schedule • RFC1493 in SMIv2 due July 2001 • Extensions (t,u,v) due August 2001 • RSTP-MIB (1w) due August 2001 • 802.1x MIB (unscheduled) • Updates needed for NITS and MIB Doctor comments • Request Tracking system (RT) used by chairs to track problems • Being used widely by WG chairs and MIB Doctors • Updated boilerplates, references, etc. • Updated technical concerns • Merged VLAN ID TCs into Extensions document • New work not being accepted • No new work until existing work completed

  6. Progress on Documents • Documents have been finalized • All three republished for IETF61 • 802.1x document dropped • WG Last call starting on all three documents • Proposed Standard status before IETF62 • NEED REVIEWS

  7. Progress on Standards Advancement • Behind charter schedule • RFC1493bis to Full Standard – Sep01 • RFC2674bis to Draft Standard – Sep01 • Need advancement discussion on mailing list • Need Reports • 2674,bis implementation • 1493,bis deployment

  8. Progress on Transition Strategy • Other presentation discusses motivations and progress • Progressing as anticipated • No new work being accepted by Bridge WG • Submissions should go to IEEE 802.1 WG • Plan to close Bridge WG

Goals for Next Review • No planned session for IETF62 or IETF63 • Status reports for advancement and IEEE transition will be done on the mailing list • By IETF62, status of documents should be finalized • By IETF63, reports for advancement should be finalized • By IETF64, IEEE will operate without IETF support
