  2. AGRC SQL Server Info Shared SQL Server Cluster…… It is a fail-over cluster There is GIS and non GIS data and applications hitting the cluster AGRC has a separate instance. All users internal to the firewall utilize the direct connect scenario as well as all applications

  3. Databases By separating out databases AGRC has been able to better serve clients. Databases can be compressed on different schedules, there is no need to boot clients off. AGRC has a read only database for the public user and for viewing applications. 15 Databases – 30 GB

  4. Clients • Other State agencies • Counties and other local government • Federal Agencies • ArcGIS Server applications • Web Services

  5. What kind of editing is going on? Land Ownership Streets with Addresses Environmental data, Underground storage tanks etc. Archeological sites Tax Entities Department of Transportation Data And More…………

  6. User Load • Most databases for agencies have 5 or less workers editing the data • The public read-only database has about 50 workers concurrent per day • Many more are web application connects

  7. Lessons Learned in Migration When there is a major upgrade in Software, we do a major upgrade in hardware. We change out hardware approximately every three years. We are now at SQL Server 2005, Windows 2003 Server, and ArcSDE 9.2 SP2
